Verwulgen Florists

Verwulgen Florists was established in 1985 by Antoon and Claudia. Back then, the business was focused fully on growing “the Ghent Azalea”. Over time, Azaleas were gradually replaced by Meadow Plants. This huge passion for growing has been passed down from father, Antoon, to son, Manuel.
With Manuel, the second generation has now taken over the business with great enthusiasm. And grandson, Louis, also seems to be blessed with the “floristry gene”. So the future is assured!
Each year, Verwulgen grows some 400,000 plants. At the present time, the range is made up of Erica darleyensis, Eucalyptus gunni and Osmanthus Burkwoodii. These plants find their way to consumers all over Europe via a variety of Belgian and foreign exporters.
The members of the Verwulgen Florists team spend their days demonstrating unbelievable enthusiasm as they create top-quality products that meet the needs of consumers everywhere.

Environment & sustainability

Our plants are grown with respect for both humans and the environment. Some examples of this care are our closed water circuit system, solar panels that generate green power and the energy blanket used in our heated greenhouses. By maintaining our plants in optimum condition at every stage of their growth, we are able to reduce the disease level and we use almost no chemical pesticides. It is through measures such as this that we make every attempt to limit our impact on the environment.

Fresh Louis, the premium Eucalyptus

To emphasise the benefits of our new Eucalyptus plant, we have introduced the ornamental plant brand “FRESH LOUIS The premium Eucalyptus”. Fresh Louis is a sturdy Eucalyptus that is capable of thriving in our changing climate.

To help our customers with their communication to the end-consumer, we have developed our own photo label. The aim is to tempt customers at garden centres to make a purchase. And by presenting our Eucalyptus in a trendy mint green pot, with matching photo label, we are able to stand out from our competitors.
